Reached York!

Wow, after 2 hours of train ride, i reached York! =)

I must say it was an exciting experience to get onto a train in King's Cross. Anw, I was too engrossed in chiong'ing to get onto the train, I didnt spot Harry or Ron or Hermoine (aga spell). Nor did I run into Platform9 3/4. =( It's ok! i'll try to spot them during my nxt trip! Maybe i'll go join Hogwarts after i graduate =)

Okay, the system works like this. You buy a train ticket, and you can take the train at any time slot. So if you couldnt get a seat at this time slot, you have to wait for the other until you get a seat. Hence, after buying the ticket, pple wld stand in front of a big screen which screens the schedule to check out the platform which they are suppose to go. THERE WERE MANY OF THEM. Quite scary, cos once the Platform number appears, pple will CHIONGGGGGGGG to the platform to CHIONGGGGGG up the train. Super exciting i must say, 'cause i have 2 large luggages, 2 smaller luagges and 2 bags to CHIONGGGG with. Not easy. Hence i was already on-my-mark to CHIONG with 1 bag, 1 large luggage and 1 small luggage.
I am glad i trained my CHIONGGGGG skills during my A level's mugging period, when i CHIONGGG for seats at libraries. So yea! it was quite fun! but very stressful and unglam. LOL! For survival, HECK!!

During the train ride, I realised how beautiful and different country-side can be. It is really very very different from london.
London: Relatively tall houses (3 storeys) lined up along streets filled with cars. Many modern buildings. People filled the streets.
Country-side: Short houses. In clusters. Little streets. LARGE LARGE fields. Empty fields. Some have cows and horses. I could just imagine milkmaids, cowboys. It is really beautiful. Magnificant. Simple and beautiful.
Hence i shall announce the verdict: Country-side OWNS!

So throughout the 2 hours train ride, I saw only the country-side area. No more urban stuff. Beautiful. Everything seems so peaceful and so out-of-the chaotic modern world. It is as if living in their own world. That was what i perceived.

York is very different from London. It is like Cambridge. Very, erm, not urban, yet not very lao-pok. Very historical. And the air is so FRESHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My lungs are saved! =))))) Although it is colder, i dont feel so. lol! ironic yea. But after 5pm, most shops closed except the eateries. The eateries, which I saw, were either too posh, or too sleazy. In the end, we chose the sleazy one. Erm, hmmm dont wanna say too much abt the food, but just imagine it to be like a American fast food stop. Minus the mini-shorts waitresses.

Hope that the next 2 days wld be fun filled! gonna meet up with some frens who are already here in York! =)
Anw, I bought a phone! Frm London. Took 1.5hours to settle the phone with the dealer. Inefficiency is the norm in UK. I have to get used to it! =)

Okie! it is 545am now in spore and 2230pm in York. Sleeeeeepyyyyyy. Jet lag is bad..

And this hotel is really nice to provide free wireless for their customers! =) YAY!

Hope to update soooon! =)
